A licensed clinician reviews your case.
A clinician licensed in your state reviews your assessment and, when needed, messages you with follow-up questions. Completing an assessment does not guarantee a prescription. Treatment is prescribed only if the clinician determines it is medically appropriate for you.

If prescribed, treatment ships to you.
If treatment is appropriate, your prescription is filled by a licensed pharmacy and shipped to your door, with ongoing access to your care team for questions and adjustments.
Not every person is a candidate for hormone therapy through telehealth. If our clinicians determine you need in-person evaluation, we will tell you, and you will not be charged for medication.
Some states require a live visit
In some states the law does not allow a clinician to prescribe based on a questionnaire alone. If you live in one of them, we will contact you to arrange a live visit with your clinician — by video or phone — before any prescribing decision is made. There is no additional charge for it, and you will not be charged for medication unless a clinician prescribes.

What a clinician may prescribe
If a clinician determines that hormone therapy is appropriate for you, they prescribe from three FDA-approved medications. All three are FDA-approved, and none of them is compounded.

Your clinician decides which of these, if any, is appropriate for you. Some people are prescribed one, some are prescribed all three, and some are not prescribed hormone therapy at all. Dose and duration are decided for you individually, not set by a plan.
FDA approval means a medication has been reviewed for safety and effectiveness for this use. It does not mean it is right for everyone.
What you need to know about these medications
Hormone therapy is not right for everyone, and it carries serious risks. These are the most important ones.
- Estrogen used without a progestogen increases the risk of cancer of the uterine lining in a person who has a uterus.
- Systemic hormone therapy has been associated with an increased risk of blood clots, stroke, and, in some populations, heart attack.
- Estrogen plus progestin therapy has been associated with an increased risk of invasive breast cancer, and the risk appears to increase with longer use.
- In studies of women 65 and older, hormone therapy was associated with an increased risk of probable dementia.
Hormone therapy should not be used to prevent heart disease or dementia.
A clinician will generally not prescribe systemic hormone therapy if you have or have had breast cancer or another hormone-sensitive cancer, blood clots, stroke or heart attack, liver disease, or unexplained vaginal bleeding, or if you are pregnant.
Common side effects include headache, breast tenderness, irregular bleeding or spotting, nausea, bloating, fluid retention, and mood changes.

- $89 per month covers your prescribed medication and its delivery. There is no separate charge for your clinician evaluation or for messaging your care team.
- Your exact price and billing interval are shown before you are charged. Sales tax is added where it applies.
- If your prescription changes — a different dose, or a different refill schedule — your price may change. We will tell you the new amount before we charge it.
- Not included: lab work, imaging, and care you receive from clinicians outside Soha.
- Cancel anytime. Cancel at least two days before your renewal date and you will not be billed for the next period. See the Cancellation Policy and the Refund Policy, which govern.
