FAQ
Questions, answered plainly.
If something here is unclear, email us and we will explain it.
- Which pharmacy fills my prescription?
Prescriptions are filled and shipped by Epiq Scripts, a licensed pharmacy in Richardson, Texas. Soha does not dispense medication and does not own a pharmacy.
You can reach a pharmacist with questions about your medication, and your clinician remains responsible for your care.
- Is Soha a pharmacy or a medical practice?
Neither. Soha Health LLC is a technology platform and management services organization. It does not provide medical care and it does not dispense medication.
Medical services are provided by independent licensed clinicians of MDI Medical Group, P.C.. Prescriptions, when a clinician writes one, are filled and shipped by licensed pharmacies.
- Will I definitely get a prescription?
No. Completing an assessment does not guarantee a prescription. A licensed clinician reviews your assessment and decides whether treatment is medically appropriate for you.
A clinician may decide that hormone therapy is not appropriate, that a different approach is a better fit, or that you should be seen in person.
- Who are the clinicians? Are they licensed in my state?
Care is provided by independent licensed clinicians of MDI Medical Group, P.C., an independent medical group. You are matched with a clinician licensed in the state where you live.
Once your visit is assigned, you can view your treating clinician's name, credentials, and state licensure in the patient portal.
- What is compounded medication?
Compounding is the practice of preparing a medication for an individual patient, for example to combine medications or to provide a different dosage form. In some cases a clinician may determine that a compounded formulation is appropriate for you.
- Is hormone therapy safe?
Hormone therapy is not right for everyone, and it carries risks that differ from person to person depending on age, medical history, and the type and duration of therapy.
We publish a plain-language summary of those risks in our Important Safety Information. Please read it, and discuss your individual risks with a licensed clinician.
- What states do you serve?
Available in all 50 states. Soha serves patients in every U.S. state — there is no state we do not serve. The full state-by-state list is published on our Contact page.
The online assessment still asks which state you live in, because clinicians are matched by state licensure and the law on how a first prescription may be issued differs by state. If your state requires a live visit before prescribing, we will contact you to arrange one at no additional charge.
- How does billing work? What does the price include? How do I cancel?
$89/month. $89 per month covers your prescribed medication and its delivery. There is no separate charge for your clinician evaluation or for messaging your care team.
You will not be charged unless a licensed clinician prescribes treatment for you.
Your exact price and billing interval are shown before you are charged. Sales tax is added where it applies.
If your prescription changes — a different dose, or a different refill schedule — your price may change. We will tell you the new amount before we charge it.
Not included: lab work, imaging, and care you receive from clinicians outside Soha.
You can cancel at any time from your account, or by emailing us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current subscription period, and you need to cancel at least two days before your renewal date. The full terms are in our Cancellation Policy and our Refund Policy, which govern if anything here is unclear.
- Does my state allow this to be done entirely online?
In some states the law does not allow a clinician to prescribe based on a questionnaire alone. If you live in one of them, we will contact you to arrange a live visit with your clinician — by video or phone — before any prescribing decision is made. There is no additional charge for it, and you will not be charged for medication unless a clinician prescribes.
These rules exist to protect you, and they differ by state — some require a real-time video or phone visit before a first prescription, some turn on whether you have seen the clinician before. We follow the rule that applies where you live, and we tell you which one that is rather than leaving you to find out.
- What if I need in-person care?
Not every person is a candidate for hormone therapy through telehealth. If our clinicians determine you need an in-person evaluation, we will tell you, and you will not be charged for medication.
Soha is not for emergencies. If you think you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
- How is my health information protected?
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how it is used.
When you receive care, the medical group and the clinicians who treat you are covered entities under HIPAA, and their handling of your protected health information is governed by HIPAA and described in the Notice of Privacy Practices.
The online health assessment on this site does not run analytics, advertising trackers, or session recording of any kind.
